If you have SIBO, you are probably familiar with the dreaded lists of "yes" and "no" foods. Maybe you were given a low FODMAP list from your doctor to follow. Or you enlisted google to find a SIBO diet to follow. Or maybe you found a list on a SIBO forum. If you are like my clients, you dread these diets, but feel like they are a necessary evil to promote healing.

I know this feeling well. When I had SIBO, I doubled down on my SIBO specific diet (more intense version of low FODMAP diet). I hated the diet and felt so stressed trying to figure out what the heck to eat every day. My life revolved around maintaining this diet. I initially felt some slight relief from my bloating so I was comforted that at least the strict diet seemed to be working.

But, the initial relief faded.  I actually started to develop new symptoms. I grew more exhausted, depressed and my bloating started to progressively get worse. I was so discouraged and thought "there must be another food that I am reacting to". So, I started removing even more foods. But, my gut was still a complete mess. My energy also remained low. After all that hard work, I was devastated!

I figured out the hard way that I was not going to conquer my SIBO and improve my health on a restrictive diet. It wasn't until I abandoned this diet and focused on nourishing my body that I started to make progress again. 

I hear stories like mine ALL day long from my new clients. Through working with hundreds of SIBO clients it has become clear that strict SIBO diets are not an effective strategy for lasting relief from constipation, bloating, pain and/or diarrhea. In fact, SIBO diets can lead to additional symptoms like fatigue, insomnia, weight loss, anxiety (food fears) and even a worsening of gut symptoms.

Let Me Introduce Myself

Hi! I am Amy Hollenkamp, MS, RD

I am a dietitian, health coach and blogger of the SIBO Diaries. I have a passion for helping SIBO sufferers find long term relief from their gut symptoms without restrictive diets. 

As a former SIBO sufferer myself,  I know first hand how debilitating SIBO can be to your overall health and well being. I made so many mistakes in my journey. There were so many different opinions and protocols that led me down the wrong paths.

My goal is to prevent you from making the same mistakes as I did to save you money, time and frustration on strategies that don't work.

This workshop includes two LIVE calls with me where I will walk you through my 5 STEP SIBO Makeover Process. Many of my clients have chaotic meal patterns that hinder digestion and motility. I will show you how to optimize your meal patterns for better digestion. 

STEP 5: Refeed Your Microbiome

In addition, to poor meal patterns, most of my clients have starved their guts of fibers for a months and many times years. Step 5 of the process provides guidance on how to add foods back in to help rebuild your microbiome.
